

Registered Practical Nurse
Job Description
As a Registered Practical Nurse, you will use a patient and family-centred approach in providing holistic, quality and safe care to patients within the scope of practice identified by the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO), evidence-based nursing practices. Working independently and collaboratively as part of the inter-professional care team, you will contribute to creating a incredible health experience for patients and their families, by demonstrating professionalism at every turn, upholding CNO values of excellence, leadership and empathy, and exemplifying Commitment to Caring.

Responsibilities:

Managing a workload effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Addressing and resolving issues in a productive, respectful manner.

Exercising sound professional judgment and using best practice guidelines.

Contributing to a safe, inclusive environment for all through compliance with patient and staff safety policies and procedures.

​Preferred Qualifications:
-
Completion of a university, college, or other approved nursing program
-
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) program
-
Current certificate of competency from the College of Nurses of Ontario

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-
Evidence of cooperative and facilitative relationships when working with all interdisciplinary and direct care team members
-
Evidence of commitment to team building and working within a patient focused care
model -
Ability to function entirely independently
-
Strong crisis intervention/problem solving skills
-
Evidence of strong physical assessment and the ability to predict changes in patient
status. -
Demonstrated knowledge and ability to utilize the nursing process in planning,
implementing and evaluating patient care -
Evidence of commitment to self-directed learning
